Two days of playing the viola da gamba
at a beautiful location with lovely people,
enthusiastic coaches, and a delicious meal.
Sunday, July 6:
In 2024, a few singers joined the gamba consort on Sunday. It was such a wonderful experience that we want to continue this year: we are offering a separate vocal ensemble course on Saturday, and on Sunday, we will combine both.
Saturday
On Saturday, we will play or sing in small groups, either the gamba consort or the vocal ensemble. Each singer or gambist will perform their part individually. Depending on registrations and skill levels, we may have multiple people in the same voice part. Separate groups will be made for singers and gambists.
The gambists will be divided into skill levels, and the same will apply for the singers. We expect singers to have at least 5 years of experience and feel comfortable singing their part solo.
A light lunch will be provided in the afternoon. In the evening, you will be offered a cold buffet, followed by an engaging lecture and an informal teachers’ concert. All these extras are included in the price.
Sunday
On Sunday, the singers and gambists will come together. We will create mixed groups where one singer and one gambist represent one voice part. It is also possible that the gamba consort will be complemented by one or more vocal parts. As much as possible, we will work in skill-level groups.
Gambists who would like to sing for one day can let us know. If there are spots available for vocal participation, we will contact you.
In the summer of 2024, we organized our first gamba weekend. In January 2025, we took the next steps. Below, you can find some atmosphere pictures.
Keep an eye on our website, social media, and newsletter.
Each day, there are 4 sessions where you receive lessons in your skill level group from the different coaches.
In between sessions, you’ll meet other enthusiastic musicians over a drink or a piece of fruit.
A light lunch is provided in the afternoon.
On Saturday evening, there will be a cold buffet, followed by a lecture and an informal concert by the coaches.
The day starts at 9 AM on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, we finish around 9 PM, and on Sunday, we wrap up at 5 PM.
