Viola da Gamba & Vocal Weekend
Saturday
On Saturday, we work in small viola da gamba consort groups. Each gambist plays one single voice part.
The gambists are divided into level-based groups. The coaches rotate between the groups, allowing you to work with all coaches during the day.
The singers rehearse in a separate group, led by Jan Van Elsacker.
A sandwich lunch is provided at midday.
On Saturday evening, a warm meal will be offered. After dinner, we will host a (concert) lecture. More information about this will follow.
The day ends around 8:00 pm.
Sunday
On Sunday, the singers join the gambists. Jan Van Elsacker will rotate along as one of the coaches.
A sandwich lunch is provided at midday.
The weekend concludes at 5:00 pm.

In the summer of 2024, we organized our first gamba weekend. In January 2025, we took the next steps. Below, you can find some atmosphere pictures.

José studied in Lyon and Brussels. His passion is Latin American early music.

Anne is a member of Lux Beata.
She teaches and is professionally active in both singing and the viola da gamba.

Ulises is a Mexican viola da gamba player based in Switzerland. He holds a Master’s degree in viola da gamba pedagogy.

Gambaweekends in… Antwerp!
In recent years, the gamba weekend took place in Lier. Due to renovation works at the school, we are required to move to a different location. We have, however, found a wonderful new venue in Antwerp, Berchem.
The Rudolf Steiner School of Antwerp, Skellig Michael, warmly welcomes us. The venue is located a 15-minute walk from Berchem railway station and is also easily accessible by car (parking available).
